The method in which the certification exams is given is changing in 2008.  Exams will now be offered through ETS's Prometric Testing Centers.   This will basically allow a candidate to schedule an exam on the day & time  that works for him.  Please see the Software Certifications web site (softwarecertifications.org)  for more information.

Preparatory-Courses

CSTE Prep class

Twin Cities Quality Assurance Association is hosting a preparatory class for Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) certification exam on June 10 – 12, 2008 at Calabrio (605 N Highway 169, Plymouth, MN 55441). Please fill out the registration form (CSTE Preparatory Course Registration) and return it soon if interested as the class size is limited. Payment can be delayed until June.

This three-day CSTE Exam Study Course is designed to help candidates prepare for the certification examination. It assists the professional to focus on the topics that are important for understanding and thus help towards the successful completion of the exam. It also will include time for a practice exam. This course is not intended to supplant the need for proper examination preparation. However, it will serve as an excellent review of the material covered in the test. Although the class is geared towards exam takers, it is open to non-exam takers as well and can provide an overview of quality control for beginning testers.

The certification exams are now given on-line, which means you can take it when it is convenient for you. You still need to apply to take the exam. (For an exam application or detailed information regarding the certifications please visit Software Certifications’ web site http://www.softwarecertifications.org/ ) Once your application has been accepted you can go online and schedule the exam at a Prometric Testing Center.

QAI also provides live web classes.  They are composed of 12 twice-weekly meetings for a cost of $795.  See their web site for additional details.    http://www.qaiworldwide.org/qaicampus/webinar/cste_webinar.html
