Abstract:

It's been a year since our national election and the true impact of election process errors and how it affects each one of us and the world. The voting problems in Florida have shed some light on our nationwide election processes. Processes that until this past year were clearly lacking some quality process improvement.

Even though Florida was the center of attention with their lack of standards with election processes, nationwide 2.1 to 2.8 million ballots were not counted. All because of not having good sound quality practices and process improvement in place.

So what is process improvement?

How could it have helped the state of Florida?

How can it help me and my company?

This talk will help you understand about process improvement. Tim will clarify "Policy, Standards and Procedures", the "Plan, Do, Check, Act" (PDCA), and Root Cause Analyses and how they might relate to our own companies. Also you will learn how the "Workbench" concept will help you improve your own processes. So next time, we won't have to point fingers at someone and say it's your fault, we can say, "Why did our processes allow this to happen". And lastly you will be given key insight as to where the state of Florida stands now after one year of being forced into process improvement.
