Due to ongoing remodeling at the Southdale library, the meeting room is not available, so we have temporarily moved to the Ridgedale library. While this location is not as convenient for many of our members, this month's speaker and topic make this meeting worth any extra effort to attend.

About the Presentation:

This presentation will describe a Structured Testing Methodology used to incorporate testing activities at each phase of the software development life cycle. This methodology requires that the testing effort be planned, executed, and reported with an emphasis on finding and correcting errors early in the Software Development Cycle in an effort to reduce the cost of errors. It also requires that each test case be unique so that total coverage is maximized within the testing resources available.  The intent is to incorporate quality into the system, rather than test for it's existence after the system is completed.

About the Presenter:

Karen Bishop-Stone has taught seminars on Software Testing and Quality Assurance internationally since 1980. She is a very popular lecturer on software life cycle testing methodologies at national conferences and has even added extra tutorial days to accommodate the registrants.

As an industry leader in the practical application of software testing methodologies, Ms. Bishop-Stone has developed some of the most cost-effective processes for system functional and user acceptance testing. She has successfully managed the testing for a large, complex, Federally mandated, program in eight states. Her initial and continued success led to consulting requests by senior government officials under two presidents.

Ms. Bishop-Stone was one of the first to earn the American Society of Quality's (ASQ) Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) designation and subsequently became a member of that certification board.

Since 1987, Ms. Bishop-Stone has been the president and principal owner of Testware Associates, Inc., a firm dedicated to the independent testing and quality assurance of software.
