This presentation provides both:
- An overview of the SEI Capability Maturity Model (CMM), and
- A look at a local success story, achieved in the face of adversity!
The Overview describes the motivation for the SEI CMM, what the CMM is (and is not), the vital few principles that the CMM is based on, and some success stories and data.
The second part of the presentation describes 4 success stories while moving toward SEI Level 2 at FSI International, Inc. The success stories come primarily from the commitment process, which consists of Requirements Management, Software Project Planning, and Software Project Tracking and Oversight.
This presentation was recently given at the SEPG 99 conference in Atlanta, GA.
