About the Presentation:

Object-Oriented technology has invaded almost every organization. Organizations are racing to get the technology adopted ASAP. As a new paradigm for software development, OO technology has impacted development projects in many ways. Where does this leave QA and testing organizations and professionals? Lost! Or, at least, that is how we feel. It does not really have to be that way. This presentation is the first of two parts that will shed the light on the technology and how it impacts the work of QA and testing professionals. In this first part, Dr. Hanna will explain, in plain English, what the technology is all about, how it differs from traditional approaches to software development, and, most importantly, how it impacts software quality and testing professional: what they should worry about and what they should ignore

About the Presenter:

Dr. Hanna is a recognized educator, speaker and consultant in several related areas of software engineering. He is a frequent speaker in many national and international conferences. Dr. Hanna brings over twenty four years of experience with building and maintaining software systems. Dr. Hanna is the Conference Chair for the International Conference on Practical Software Quality techniques and the Chairman and CEO of the Software Testing Institute. As a consultant, he helped many organizations define and improve their software processes using disciplined software engineering approaches. As an associate professor at the University of St. Thomas, he teaches graduate courses on several software engineering topics with emphasis on practical software quality techniques. His distinguished seminars on various topics have been highly rated by software professionals. Dr. Hanna worked extensively with the ANSI Object-Oriented Task Group where he performed a survey of object-oriented database management systems and participated in He developed new approaches and methods in software development including the Software Quality Engineering Methodology (SQEngineer), the Unified Data Model (UDM), and the Data-Driven Object Model (DOM). Dr. Hanna holds a Ph.D. and a Master degree in Computer and Information Sciences form the University of Minnesota and a Master degree in Operations Research from Cairo University.
