Graduate Programs in Software, University of St. Thomas.

The March TCQAA presentation will feature Perry Bowen of Fisher-Rosemount. Perry will discuss PSP, a Personal Software Process, which is a process discussed by Watts Humphrey in his book entitled "A Discipline for Software Engineering", 1995.

Perry and three other engineers at Fisher-Rosemount went through self-study training in this process during January, 1996. They have been using PSP for approximately 1 year. They have also coached 10 other engineers in a second self-study PSP course.

The main thrust of the presentation will be to explain what measurements are in Watts Humphrey's book, how his book compares with the CMM (Capability Maturity Model), and what PSP techniques are being used at Fisher-Rosemount. Perry will also show the data they collected during the self-study course. Lastly, Perry will comment on their last year of using PSP during real development, including positive outcomes to their organization, and lessons learned.

About the Speaker:
